Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

Zively ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Zively mobile application and zively.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information permitted by that provider.

Profile information. You may optionally upload a profile photo and set a bio. Profile photos are stored in secure cloud storage.

Location data. Zively is a location-based discovery app. We request location permission as "While Using the App" only. We do not request background or "Always On" location access. Your device stops sharing location with Zively when you close or background the app.

We use your location to:

Important: Your exact street address or precise GPS coordinates are never shown to other users. Streams and profiles display a fuzzed, neighborhood- or place-level label (for example, a general area name), not your home address or exact pin.

Live video and user content. When you go live, we process video and audio from your device camera and microphone. Live streams, stream titles, categories, chat messages, reactions, and saved bucket-list items are stored to operate the service.

Device and usage data. We collect device type, operating system, app version, and basic usage events (such as sign-up method) to improve reliability and performance. If enabled, crash reports are sent to our error monitoring provider.

Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store a device token so we can send alerts about nearby streams, bucket-list reminders, and account-related messages.

2. How we use your information

3. How location works in practice

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate Zively, under contractual obligations to protect your data:

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

5. User-generated content and safety

Live streams, chat, profile information, and other content you post may be visible to other users according to the feature you use. Do not share sensitive personal information (home address, financial details, etc.) in streams or chat.

Reports and moderation. When you submit a report, we store the report reason, optional details, and a snapshot of the reported content (for example, a chat message or stream metadata) so our team can review it. Reports are handled by authorized moderators via our admin tools — not shown to the reported user. We may retain report records for safety, fraud prevention, and legal compliance even after content is removed.

Blocking. When you block someone, we store that block relationship to enforce limits on discovery, streaming, chat, and social features. Blocked users are not notified that you blocked them.

Host moderation. Stream hosts may remove chat messages or ban users from a stream's chat. We store moderation actions tied to the stream and accounts involved.

6. Data retention

We retain account and content data while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as security logs).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), authenticated access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Children

Zively is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email.
